An All-Day Workshop

Multi-media artist Connie Govea Stuart has long been inspired by the intrigue and beauty of vintage paintboxes. This inspiration has caused Connie to create artwork with special techniques that capture the magic of these paintboxes. Her distinctive techniques include painting, paper clay sculpting, stitching, dyeing, collaging, rubber stamping, and more.

You are invited to join Connie Govea Stuart at the home studio of Jenny Doh on Saturday, September 10, 2011 where she will share her stash of ephemera and all of her special techniques to teach you how to create a Vintage Treasures Paintbox project of your own.

• Arrive & Settle: 8:30 :: Time for students to arrive, settle in, and grab a cup of coffee.
• Class Segment A: 9:00-12:00 :: Class time with Connie who will demonstrate and guide the 1st part of class.
• Lunch & optional walk: 12:00 PM :: You can choose to brown bag it or decide on a catered lunch option* and then weather permitting, take a walk in a scenic, historic Santa Ana neighborhood and park.
• Class Segment B: 1:00-4:00 PM :: Class time with Connie who will demonstrate and guide the 2nd part of class.
• Show & Tell, Clean-Up & Depart: 4:00-5:00 PM

SUPPLY LIST: Connie will prepare a class kit for each student that contains the essential items to create the project, including an oblong papier mache box, and elements from vintage paintboxes. She will also bring her stash of vintage and rare paper ephemera to share but recommends that each student also bring the following:

• Favorite paper ephemera
• Favorite pens including white gel pen
• Scissors
• Super glue gel
• Glue stick (Martha Stewart)
• Diamond Glaze (or glossy accents)
• Metal glue (optional)
• Copies of favorite photos
• Favorite tarnished embellishments (like ribbons, fabric trims, buttons, rhinestones, etc.)

NOTES

• If you'd like to purchase a catered lunch, please purchase the class with catered lunch option.
• Amy will have a limited number of original jewelry items on hand for those interested in purchasing her pieces.
• The class location is in Santa Ana, California. The address will be provided upon purchase of class.
• Due to limited class size, the spot for this class is transferable but payment is non-refundable.
