Doll Making has always been a passion of mine. I enjoy starting with an idea, working with my hands and making choices that will define who I am creating in the process.
The finished piece can be a girl, an animal, happy, sad, and wearing anything I want. The power of creating something out of nothing brings joy to my heart like nothing else. It's a very different feeling from just painting, because my idea gets to be more than just an image and becomes a tangible, touchable thing. I love it, and I want ot share with you that feeling.
Join me in a 2-day workshop as I guide you through the process I use for creating a soft doll, from concept to the finished piece. We will learn together how I transform an idea using a basic pattern to make the initial shape. I'll show you how I use an alchemy of mixed media techniques to sew, paint, dress up and embellish your creation, and by the end of the workshop you will get to take home a beautiful one-of-a-kind doll.
