Having had a lifelong love affair with creating and flowers both, I’ve structured this two-day creative expression class to combine these two loves as we focus on inspiration, SEEing, mark-making, drawing, painting, and intuitive & inspired creative play. I’ll share with you my favorite tools, techniques and approaches that I use in my floral artwork. We’ll work on paper, canvas and wood substrates using guided exercises that quiet the judgmental mind that is focused on results. Instead, we’ll celebrate the play, the unknown, the “what- ifs” and turn the volume up on your intuitive artist voice. We’ll cover finding and using inspiration, drawing and line quality, painting with watercolors and acrylics, both realistic to abstracted. Join me for a weekend of colorful creativity using florals as the main jumping off point. You’re sure to find your own unique style of creating and playing with pen and paint and the skills to repeat the process again and again.
All Skill Levels WELCOME!
BASIC ART KIT: Each participating artist is asked to bring a very basic art kit to class as follows:
- Apron & scissors
- Small selection of favorite pencils/black writing tools; colored pencils & markers
- Watercolor set if you have one
- Small selection/variety of watercolor brushes; acrylic paint brushes

Small selection of acrylic paint - white, black, blue, red, yellow and two other favorite colors- can be student grade tubes or even inexpensive craft paint bottles.
The Instructor will collect a $20 materials fee for all additional supplies including all substrates (paper, canvas, wood).
SCHEDULE for both days:
- Arrive & Settle: 9:00 :: Time for students to arrive, settle in.
- Class Segment A: 9:30-12:00 :: Class time with Pam who will demonstrate and guide the 1st part of class.
- Lunch & Stroll: 12:00 PM :: You can choose to brown bag it or take a stroll to one of the many hip and artsy eateries in the historic Artist's Village in Santa Ana, like The Gypsy Den.
- Class Segment B: 1:30-4:30 PM :: Class time with Pam who will guide the 2nd part of class.
- Clean-Up & Depart: 4:30-5:00 PM
